Happy Hearts Day Giveaway!

Happy Hearts Day! Meant to post this yesterday but got all caught up in the Olympics! LOL

Here's a little something I made for Valentines Day as a giveaway to one lucky blog visitor... a heart pendant with a Swarvoski crystal and a set of matching heart earrings! Read on and see how you can enter this giveaway....

I don't know about you but I can tell you I sure dislike all the hype around Valentines day! So I decided a number of years ago to declare Valentines Day as a day for me (and women everywhere) to spoil themselves rotten LOL.

This is the day to treat yourself to a massage or pedicure with your favourite massage therapist or manucurist.

A long, leisurely soak in the tub with a glass of wine and some pretty music playing in the background sounds good to me.

Buy yourself some chocolates and indulge your tastebuds for a day!

To enter this giveaway, just leave a comment (and how to get in touch with you) telling me how you are going to spoil yourself rotten on Valentines Day! On Tuesday the 16th, I will draw a name and announce the winner on the blog so remember to check back to see if you have won!

If your name is drawn, just send me a quick email with your snail mail address so I can get it in the mail to you "pronto" LOL. If I don't hear from you by Wednesday evening, I will draw another name...

Happy Hearts Day

Sharon

  3. I completely relate to your being tired of the hype on Valentine's day!!!! It's my birthday on that, and i've had a few years to ponder the implications of the day. Considering I've been single most of my life, I find the hype hilarious, and such a commercial and cultural construct. I agree that it should be a love day, for all of us to all of us, not just to love birds. I'm treating myself to a wonderful 2 hour spa experience this pm. So have a wonderful love day, Sharon, my fellow Vancouver Island resident. Love from Sox

  4. Your pendant is gorgeous! And I wholly support your proclamation about St. Valentine's Day. I'm out to buy chocolate right now!

  5. My day of indulging will be leaving all the mundane chores behind and sitting with my grandchildren watching a video, all snuggly and eating popcorn.

  6. I love your blog. I just found it from joining the yahoo group Trends in Mixed Media Arts! As for spoiling myself, I'm crafting, watching the games on TV and later meeting friends at a Winery where we will have wine and chocolate!!! Thanks for the chance to win your wonderful gift!! 7. Pick Me! Pick Me! See me jumping up and down....
That is what i am giving myself for valentines day today ... I am picking me to do whatever I Want TO!
Watching it snow a little in Texas...a rare treat... eating chocolate candy and covering up with a big blanket... Intending to read til I get sleepy and then cat-napping... these are the things that i usually don't do since I feel guilty if i am not "producing something" all the time. I may go from couch potatoe to slug status...could be the gaol of the day. Happy Valentines day... and how fun it is to think of you creating those pieces with the gift of giving them away in mind..I think that is the truedecription of Love now that i put a little thought in it... giving without any intention of getting back in return. Thanks for inviting me! Jamie

  8. Hi Sharon my day has been indulging in my love of sport, I have watched football, rugby, winter olympics and Daytona 500 much to the chagrin of my kids lol, but hey I did cook them all a lovely meal xxx

  12. Oh, what fun! I was just thinking about this earlier today and considered buying myself chocolates and flowers. I decided I didn't want to wear the chocolates on my hips and I didn't want flowers overpriced for the occasion. Instead, I bought art materials and now am taking a nap!

  13. Hi, Sharon,

After receiving your nekkid Santa (with strategically positioned Santa hat), I would LOVE to be the recipient of your lovely heart pendant, as well.

I agree with you about spoiling oneself. I've been doing this since 1985, so I've had a lot of practice, after having de-selfed for the first 42 years of my life!

Hubby's at a meeting and I'm going to sew and knit, maybe even "clay", to my heart's content.

I can be reached through my email on VanPolyClayers group site.

  14. I'm with you, Sharon!

I DO like the loving attention that hubby gives me on a day like today, though. A froggy (he's French-Canadian in origin, hence a "frog") that sings Peggy Lee's "Fever" is cute and a card from our "puppy", too, lets me know that he cares.

He's off to a meeting, so I will sew/knit/clay to my heart's content.

  19. I must admit that I don't pay attention to the hype of Valentine's Day. I've been single a great part of my life as well. Last night I went to my first prom (I'm 55) which was a benefit for a local ballet group. We all dressed up with sort of an 80s theme, but the outfits were wonderful, quirky and we DANCED a lot! I had a wonderful time with friends and my dear ex-husband and today, on Valentine's Day, I took a long nap! I love your pretty hearts!

  21. Hi Sharon...You are always doing something fun. I love your hearts. My husband has been sick but I have slipped in enough time to make valentine cards for all my children and slip a check in for them to go do something fun. I am a firm believer that it is more fun to give than to receive. ( although receiving is fun too!) I have so much fun making cards it is a relaxing activity for me. I am sure many people feel this way.

Anyway..Thanks for sharing your fun art with us.

  23. Thank you Sharon for these beautiful pieces. It is always a pleasure to stop by your blog for a story or to see what you have been up to. Today, I really spoiled myself. I went to a dance last night and my feet were hurting so I soaked in a tub and did a pretty peddie, but first I really slept in today. I brewed some of the really good coffee, not my normal instant, and had some Chripsy Cream donuts that I picked up last night on the way home. Then I called all of my friends and family and wish them the best day and told them how much I love them. Then went out with my good girl friend for dinner and had two glasses of wine! Now I am just going to watch a movie and work on a little art until I think I can go to sleep!

  24. I spoiled myself by asking my husband to accompany me to Portmouth NH and go to the N.W.Barret Gallery and Three Graces Gallery. Afterwhich we went to the Rusty Hammer for an early dinner and I had the best Ruben Sandwich and Italian Lemon Cake. We disregarded it as Valentine day except when shop owners offered us chocolate.

  25. Since my hubby doesn't give in to the hype of V day I am "forced" to spoil myself. So, yesterday I purchased my self a new pair of pajama bottoms and a bottle of lotion. The best part? I didn't even tell him I bought myself these things!!

  26. I bought myself some strawberry marshmallow hearts. I am not all that keen on chocolate but I do love marshmallow candies. Your pendant is very pretty and thanks for the chance to win.

  27. Sharon, I decided to pamper myself on Valentines day by leaving my child with my husband and going to an Art Journaling Class at Dick Blick's. Goodbye guilt, I'm doing something for ME!
